[e-litebeat] PLEASE VOTE!

Hello all,
I was informed today that we've only received 1 ballot for the board
of director's election so far. We expected low turnout since 3 people
are running for 3 positions, but having only 1 vote really reflects
poorly on us.
PLEASE, take a few minutes and send in your ballot - they need to be
postmarked by the 25th (Saturday).
Thanks,
Alison and the AAC

[e-litebeat] USOC AAC Alternate Needed

Hello all,
Jennifer Gutierrez is stepping down from her position as the USOC
Athletes Advisory Council Alternate Rep for triathlon. Victor Plata
is our regular rep, so the alternate only is needed in his absence
(we don't expect this to be much of a time committment).

The USOC requests that our alternate and regular rep are of opposite
genders, so we would like to replace Jennifer with another female.

Following are details:

· The USOC AAC is composed of one athlete representative from
each Olympic and Pan American sport elected from each sport. The
Council oversees issues related to all Olympic issues, including
those from triathlon and all other Olympic sports.

· Athletes must meet the following USOC requirements to be
eligible for election to the USOC AAC:
Must have represented the United States in Olympic, or Pan American
Games or World Championship within the preceding ten years as
measured from the first AAC meeting of the quad.

Please contact Alison (AlisonAAC@yahoo.com, 303-641-5393) with
questions or interest.
Thanks,
The AAC

[e-litebeat] Athletes Needed for PR

Hello all,
USAT is looking for athletes for two PR opportunities. If you're
interested, please email Alison at AlisonAAC@yahoo.com
Thanks.

1. USA Today is looking for stories about athletes and those rubber
bracelets that everyone is wearing. It can be the Lance Armstrong
LiveStrong bracelet, or one for another cause. But we need good
stories about why you wear it or stuff that has happened while you
were wearing it. Or maybe why you don't wear it any more.

2. The USOC has a sponsor that is looking for athletes who have
osteoporosis or rheumatoid arthritis or have family members that do -
they really want someone that is passionate about the cause -
prevention and education about these issues - to work with them in
some type of awareness program.

Please let me know ASAP if you can help with either issue. Thanks!
