Hey Folks,
I got an email from USAT today with a document from the USOC
regarding the USOC Bylaws and Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports
Act and USAT's compliance with USOC bylaws. It's a ten page
document that asks 17 questions with regard to USAT's membership
requirements in the USOC, followed by an additional ten narrative
questions. The questions cover a broad range of topics, from the
20% athlete representation requirement of committees, to how
athletes are informed of national team selection, and what steps are
being taken to encourage more female participation in the sport.
As the USOC AAC Rep for triathlon, it is my job to sign off on the
document that USAT has compiled in response to the USOC's questions.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding the
issue of USAT's compliance with USOC Bylaws. I apologize that I
could not include the document in this posting, but I will do my
best to answer any specific questions you might have.
