Hey Folks,

This is a follow-up email to notify everyone of the list submitted
to the USOC indicating the items that USAT feels have a material
effect on the performance of athletes in the Olympics.

Swim/race wear: Swim/Race wear must be the choice of the individual
athlete. This is a very personal item and includes the cut and
design which can be an all in one suit for them men or a two piece
uniform made up of a race top and short or jammer bottoms. For the
ladies this usually includes a one piece suit with short or longer
legs. While the make and design is the choice of the athlete, the
colors are determined by USA Triathlon in conjunction with the USOC.
This item is viewed as having a material effect on the performance
of athletes, due to the specialized characteristics of the
equipment.

Swim goggles: Swim goggles are very individual and this technical
item must be left to the choice of the athlete. This item is viewed
as having a material effect on the performance of athletes, due to
the specialized characteristics of the equipment.

Wetsuit: Wetsuits are a technical item and must be left to the
choice of the athlete. This item is viewed as having a material
effect on the performance of athletes, due to the specialized
characteristics of the equipment.

Bike (to include all bike components and bike computer): The choice
of bicycle, including all the components, must be left to the choice
of the athlete. This will include items such as pedals, handle bars,
bicycle computers and wheels. This item is viewed as having a
material effect on the performance of athletes, due to the
specialized characteristics of the equipment.

Cycling shoes: Cycling shoes are regarded as a technical item and
all athletes must have the right to choose a shoe that best suits
their needs. This item is viewed as having a material effect on the
performance of athletes, due to the specialized characteristics of
the equipment.

Bike helmet: Bike helmets are regarded as a technical item and all
athletes must have the right to choose a helmet that best suits
their needs. The helmet colors will be determined by USA Triathlon
in conjunction with the USOC. This item is viewed as having a
material effect on the performance of athletes, due to the
specialized characteristics of the equipment.

Sunglasses: Sunglasses, as with goggles, are a technical item and
must be left to the choice of the athlete. This item is viewed as
having a material effect on the performance of athletes, due to the
specialized characteristics of the equipment.

Running shoes: Running shoes are regarded as a technical item and
all athletes must have the right to choose a shoe that best suits
their personal needs. This item is viewed as having a material
effect on the performance of athletes, due to the specialized
characteristics of the equipment.
