USA Triathlon's Resident Program is an elite athlete performance-
based program that allows selected athletes to live and train at the
Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The primary purpose of
the program is to provide a professional, supportive atmosphere to
assist athletes in achieving optimal results at the highest levels
of international triathlon competition.
The Emerging Athlete Resident Program (EARP) is the developmental
component of the Resident Program, and is primarily designed to
allow junior, under 23, and emerging senior athletes to develop the
skills, fitness, and experiences necessary to achieve domestic and
international competitive success.
The focus of both the Resident Program and Emerging Athlete Program
is to prepare athletes to compete in the International Triathlon
Union (ITU) style (draft legal) of triathlon competition (1.5k swim,
40k bike, 10k run) under the guidelines established by the ITU.
